The Love Bug pattern is one of our most popular patterns, a great start to a bear making journey as it's un-jointed and a good size so as not to be too fiddly. 

It is quite daunting making your first bear, let alone embarking on cutting up all those precious pieces of fabric that are loaded with emotion if you want to make a Memory Bear.

It's always good to have a dry run at things so we have put together a little starter kit to help you get to know your bear construction and hone your sewing skills BEFORE you cut into anything too precious. You get to try the pattern and still have a lovely new bear and a whole heap of new confidence when you have finished!

That said, we have given you the softest faux fur, gloriously cuddle-able which we think is quite precious! Also included are safety eyes, pattern and instructions, red velvet and a heart template in case you want to give him a shaped velvet nose instead of a black sewn one. Oh, and just because we can - a little 'hand made' label!

• Supersoft cream short pile faux fur
• 40 x 20cm red velvet

Scissors for paper and fabric

Pen & cardboard for drawing round the pattern

Sewing needle, pins or sewing clips
